Guide for families
Organize a family weekend in France for 20–25 people
In short
A family weekend or summer holiday becomes clear when you divide sleeping places, meals and arrival per household. At the Mas you can also rent some gites for 10 to 15 people or the entire domain for 15 to 25 people in June, July and August.
A family weekend is rarely complicated by the destination. The puzzle lies within the group: young children, grandparents, different bedtimes, dietary preferences and cars that do not leave at the same time.
At Le Mas d'Eylieux you can choose suitable self-catering gites for your family or rent all six gites together. The domain offers exactly 25 sleeping places in total. With partial rental you share the swimming pool with other guests; Only when fully rented, the domain and swimming pool are exclusively for your group.
The basics
- Group size
- Exactly 25 sleeping places in total; layout confirmed before booking
- Summer
- June, July and August: partial rental for 10–15 people or the entire domain for 15–25
- Layout
- Six self-contained gites for 2 to 7 people; sleeping layout confirmed before booking
- Type of residence
- Self-care; no breakfast, restaurant or group coordination
- Swimming pool
- Shared with other guests for partial rental; exclusively for your group with full rental
- Pets
- Not permitted, except after exceptional written permission
First divide the sleeping places
Do not divide on the basis of who knows each other best, but on the basis of sleep rhythm and practical needs. Place families with young children close to their own routine, give people who go to bed early a quiet place and check in advance who can share a double bed.
The domain has 25 sleeping places in total. Let Pascale confirm the sleeping layout per gîte based on your group and do not assume that a sofa or free corner is an extra sleeping place.
- Please indicate the number of adults and children.
- Please specify who can share a double bed.
- Report needs for tranquility or location on the ground floor.
- Have the final distribution confirmed in writing before booking.
One domain, different rhythms
In one large holiday home, everyone hears every door and every breakfast. Self-contained gites provide more peace and quiet. A family can go to bed earlier, while others still chat outside. The next morning the group meets again without anyone having to coordinate their entire stay with the rhythm of twenty others.
Agree on one common place and a few fixed times. A breakfast window, one shared meal and a clear program for the main activity are usually sufficient. Consciously leave the rest of the time open.
Plan meals without expecting a restaurant
Le Mas d'Eylieux does not provide breakfast, restaurant service or organization of group meals. The family cooks themselves or books an external caterer directly. Make it clear before arrival who does the shopping, which meals are shared and which households arrange their own breakfast.
A shared shopping list prevents duplicate purchases. Order a possible caterer in time and check directly what delivery, materials, service and clean-up include. At the Mas you can eat in your gîte, in the courtyard or on the property, according to the agreements with Pascale. In the event of rain, Côté Jardin can accommodate a meal for up to 30 people; that does not change the 25 sleeping places.
- Designate one person responsible for each shared meal.
- Collect allergies and dietary requirements before grocery shopping.
- Plan the first evening simply; not everyone arrives equally rested.
- Record who cleans up after each meal.
Traveling from the Netherlands and Belgium
Let households plan their own route, but work with one common arrival window. Share Pascale's mobile number only with the drivers or one contact person per car. This way the arrival remains clear.
For children and older travelers, an overnight stay can be more pleasant than one long travel day. Do not plan the return trip immediately after a late family party and agree in advance who can ride if someone does not want to drive themselves.
On a summer holiday together in June, July or August
You can also stay at the Mas with several families in mid-July and August. Partial rental is possible for 10 to 15 people, with a shared swimming pool. You can rent the entire domain with exclusive swimming pool for 15 to 25 people. Both options also exist in June; Pascale checks your dates and confirms which rental form is available.
Agree with Dutch and Belgian family members when everyone has school holidays and share your preferred dates plus any flexibility. The length of stay and arrival day will be confirmed before your request. During a longer stay, there is time to alternate excursions and quiet days on the domain.
In July and August it is warmer and busier at famous sights. The Mas has no air conditioning; air early in the morning and keep shutters closed during the hottest hours. Plan a leisurely daily routine for children and grandparents, with time for the pool and going out during the cooler hours.
Compare the total cost, not just the nightly price
Compare accommodations over the same period and for the same number of people. Include cleaning, bed linen, any deposit, groceries, catering, fuel and overnight stays. Also check whether everyone actually sleeps in the same location.
For full rental of the Mas there is a reference table with four seasonal categories; this does not apply to partial rentals. Request a quote based on your dates and final group composition. Bed linen and towels are optional and cost €15 per person per stay, for one gite or the entire domain.
The short checklist for the organizer
Put all decisions in one document and do not send every change as a separate message. A simple table with name, gîte, bed, car, arrival and dietary requirements prevents most of the back and forth.
- Final list of names and ages of children
- Written confirmation of sleeping arrangements for the rented gîtes
- Arrival time and contact person per car
- Joint meals, groceries and dietary requirements
- Main activity plus easy alternative in bad weather
- Agreements about swimming pool, departure and cleaning; music and your own DJ only with complete privatization
