Chauvet Cave 2: tickets and preparation for the visit

At Chauvet 2, we visit the replica of the decorated Pont d'Arc cave. The original cave is closed to the public. To organize the outing, keep half a day available rather than reserving a second activity right after the guided time slot.
The post covers more than the replica
The official prices consulted on 6 October 2026 are from 18 € per adult, 9 € for 10–17 years and RSA beneficiaries, with free before 10 years. The day ticket also includes the Aurignacian Gallery, the exhibition and the activities planned in the program.
The guided tour lasts approximately one hour; the site advises approximately 3:30 on site. You can distribute this time between the cue and the other spaces depending on the children's attention.
Reserve the slot, then prepare the journey
Choose your departure on the official ticket office. Purchase on site depends on availability. The time indicated on the ticket is that of the guided tour: go to reception 30 minutes before and search for “Gotte Chauvet 2 – Ardèche” on the GPS.
Check the calendar for your date: times change with the season. The Site FAQ specifies that tickets are neither exchangeable nor refundable. If your group is arriving from multiple locations, assemble before heading to the site.
Children, strollers and temperature
The FAQ indicates a site accessible to strollers and wheelchairs, including replica. The darkness and the duration of the route also count: choose according to each person's needs, and ask for reception arrangements when your group has a particular need.
Take a warm layer for the replica, around 16 °C depending on the season. Photos are prohibited. The outdoor spaces are prepared according to the weather of the day.
A day from the Mas
Since our lodgings in Saint-Montan, add parking and the advance requested at reception to the journey. After the visit, you can stay in the Vallon sector or return to the estate without spending the whole day.
If you go through the arch, prepare it parking and the Pont d’Arc shuttle. For another day, the choice of a canoe descent requires its own weather and navigation conditions. Indicate your dates to Pascale on the contact page to choose accommodation.
