Vallon-Pont-d’Arc offers canoe departures, a lively center in summer and access to the Pont d’Arc. The Chauvet Cave 2 is on the heights. Before putting everything into a day, choose the activity that matters most to you: it will set the departure time and the time available for the rest.

From the Mas in Saint-Montan, count on approximately 35 to 40 minutes of driving to Vallon, more with traffic and stops. This time does not include parking or walking to the chosen site.

See the Pont d’Arc

The Pont d'Arc is a natural arch above the Ardèche, away from the center of Vallon. The access system, parking lots and shuttles change with the seasons. Our guide access to the Pont d’Arc brings together official links to consult before departure.

A walk to see the arch and a swim are two different plans. When swimming, look at river conditions and local guidelines. Leaving early in summer makes organization easier; this does not guarantee an empty range.

Keep half a day for Chauvet 2

The replica allows you to discover the paintings of the Chauvet cave without entering the original cave, closed to the public for its conservation. The guided tour lasts approximately one hour; the Official FAQ indicates approximately 3:30 to take advantage of the entire site.

Book the slot that suits your day and follow the arrival instructions on the ticket. Our Chauvet guide 2 details the program and practical needs. Avoid booking a canoe just after the supposed end of the guided tour: there are still other spaces and the route.

A day on the water

Rental companies offer several routes, from short outings to crossing the gorges. The choice depends on the participants, river conditions and time on the water. Our comparison of descents helps ask questions to the rental company.

With children, check the allowed age, swimming abilities and supervision of the chosen formula. The guide family canoe prepare these points.

Also go through the center

The Vallon market is on Thursday morning. In summer, the nocturnal give another reason for exit, according to the annual program. Plan the meal and the walk from the parking lot, rather than a second round trip during the day.

The belvedere route, the neighboring villages and the natural caves are other excursions to share. Advice for August and for choose the period allow us to prepare for the influx without denying it.

Return to Saint-Montan

Our lodges are in the hamlet of Eylieux. The estate has 25 beds in six accommodations; you can predict Vallon one day, then Saint-Montan another.

The Mas swimming pool opens from mid-May to September depending on the weather and remains shared in rental of a gîte. For dates and chosen accommodation, contact Pascale.
