Night markets in South Ardèche: prepare for an evening outing

2026 summer calendar: the season presented here ends in October 6 2026. The days below serve as benchmarks for this season. An outing during the next summer requires the program for the year and confirmation of possible cancellations.
An evening market can extend a day near the river. Before choosing which one, look at the stands advertised: a designer soiree does not necessarily offer the products to prepare dinner.
The 2026 calendar from the tourist office indicates nights in July and August, notably Tuesdays in Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche and Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, Wednesdays in Ruoms. These meetings are seasonal. For a future summer, consult the new program rather than repeating these days without verification.
| Summer landmark 2026 | Place to prepare | Why choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday, Saint-Martin-d’Ardèche | Place du Sablas and rue du Vallat; official file | Extend a day in the downstream sector of the gorges |
| Tuesday, Vallon-Pont-d’Arc | Central streets; official file | Look at the creations after a day in Vallon |
| Wednesday, Ruoms | Location and times to check in the municipal program | Choose an evening in the Ruoms sector already planned for your stay |
For dinner products, check the advertised stands: a craft night and a food market do not meet the same need.
Saint-Martin or Vallon, depending on your day
In Saint-Martin-d’Ardèche, nightlife is held at Place du Sablas and Rue du Vallat. The village is near the exit of the gorges: this evening can be added to a day in the area, with enough time to park and reach the stands on foot.
In Vallon, the market occupies the streets of the center. If you have already planned a day there, you can dine and then look at the creations on offer. For food shopping, the morning market is another meeting, with another offer.
The tourist office publishes other nightlife and farmers' markets. The current program decides questions of date, time and weather cancellation.
An evening remains an outing with a return
In villages busy in summer, parking and walking to the center take time. Plan shoes and clothes for this part of the evening, especially after a day spent in swimsuits.
You would also like to swim in the river ? Treat swimming as a separate activity, with its conditions of the day and careful supervision of children. The proximity of a market does not make a beach safe, and returning after dark can shorten the trip.
Dinner can also wait at the lodge
When you return to the Mas, you can prepare the meal in your lodging, at a time that suits you.
A quail, vegetables and goat cheese make up a short dinner to prepare; our guide to Ardèche gastronomy helps choose products.
If the day ends with gorge lookouts, save time for the road. Stops and turns require more margin than a direct journey: the market may very well be scheduled for another evening.
