Accommodation
Visit Vallon-Pont-d’Arc from a gîte in Saint-Montan

You can visit Vallon-Pont-d'Arc while staying in Saint-Montan. You have to plan the route: from the Mas, the journey to Vallon takes approximately 35–40 minutes, more when traffic slows down. This is not accommodation at the foot of the Pont d'Arc.
The choice mainly depends on your evenings. If you want to go out every evening in Vallon without driving, look locally. If you also want to discover the villages of the Rhône valley and cook on the way back, Saint-Montan may be suitable.
Before choosing the Mas as a base, compare three uses:
- In the evening: meal prepared at the gîte or repeated outing to Vallon with a driver and return organized.
- The last step: exact address of the lodge for arrival, then actual entrance to the cave or the rental company's base for each excursion. The 35–40 minute mark to Vallon does not include all of these accesses.
- Nearby days: Saint-Montan, Viviers and Bourg-Saint-Andéol, rather than daily trips to the same exit.
The holiday preparation sheet helps distribute these confirmations among participants.
A day in the Vallon area
Group visits that are on the same side together. A canoe trip takes up more than the time spent on the water: add the briefing, the journey and the shuttle. A reservation at the Chauvet Cave 2 also has its own schedule.
Avoid planning for both without looking at the total duration. For access to the Pont d’Arc, consult our guide to parking and shuttles, then the updated conditions of thetourist office.
The return to the Mas
The cottages have their own kitchen and bathroom. You can therefore keep a meal at the estate after the outing, without a new restaurant reservation. The outdoor swimming pool is open from mid-May to September depending on the weather, shared for partial rental and exclusive for full privatization.
In summer, also take accommodation into account: no gîte is air-conditioned. Shade and pool do not replace this information when choosing your dates.

The days you stay closer
The village of Saint-Montan, Viviers and Bourg-Saint-Andéol allow you to devote a day to the streets, shops and markets. TheAven d'Orgnac requests a separate route; check its schedules before integrating the visit into the program.
To locate the sectors, our article on distances from the gorges gives benchmarks. The photos and beds of the six lodges then allow you to choose accommodation: the area has exactly 25 beds, from two to seven depending on the gîte.
