A weekend for two in Ardèche, from Saint-Montan

For two days in Saint-Montan, choose an outing that you really like and leave part of the weekend available. A village visit or a morning on the water already takes time, especially with the road and the breaks.

Accommodation matters as much as the outing: look at the terrace of the chosen gîte, the equipment and the conditions of the stay. A pool photograph does not say whether it is private, shared or open on your dates.

For a stay for two, check out the Maisonette, which has a double bed of 140 cm and two beds. Compare its terrace and its accesses with the other accommodations available for your dates. You can prepare the shopping before the walk to Saint-Montan, then come back and cook at the gîte: dinner stays close to the accommodation and does not require another trip by car. The estate's swimming pool remains shared when renting a single gîte.

The first day can stay close

Saint-Montan allows a walk in the calades and towards the castle. For a longer outing, choose one of the villages of South Ardèche. Balazuc and Vogüé are other destinations: plan the route rather than wanting to add them after each visit.

You can have lunch there or return to the lodge. In summer, avoid scheduling the entire walk during the hottest hours. In spring and fall, check the openings of places you want to eat or enter.

River or canoe for the next day

A river swimming and one canoe descent do not require the same preparation. For the canoe, the rental company specifies the route, duration and conditions of the day. Leave a margin for the shuttle and the return.

To swim, look at local instructions and the river level; a quiet place in a photo can be impassable after rain. A canceled outing can also leave the day at the domain, without trying to replace it at all costs.

Return to the terrace

The Mas welcomes in self-catering. La Maisonnette has two beds; accommodation and dates are checked with Pascale. Linen is optional, at €15 per person per stay. Animals are refused, unless an exceptional exception is agreed in writing.

The Mas swimming pool is open from mid-May to September depending on the weather. It is shared when renting a gîte. For the budget, start from the price of your dates and add the activities and meals selected, rather than a universal amount for any weekend for two.
