Staying in a single accommodation allows you to move outings without repacking. For a week in South Ardèche, the gorges, caves and villages do not need to be visited in a prescribed order.

The location of the accommodation remains decisive. From Saint-Montan, the towns of the Rhône valley are close; the western villages require more travel. Check each destination rather than assuming the entire department is half an hour away.

Choose base from three outputs

Remember the three destinations that matter most to you, with their exact arrival points: cave entrance, rental company base or village parking lot. Then compare the accommodations from these addresses, adding the evening return. The guide where to stay near the gorges distinguishes between sectors; the one of the Mas near Vallon specifies the use of a base in Saint-Montan.

What makes you choose the base Question to be answered before booking
Three priority exits Is each complete journey compatible with the group and its drivers?
The evenings Cooking at home, restaurant or shopping: how do we get back?
Days without excursions Which spaces in the accommodation can be used depending on the formula and the weather?
Beds and mobility Which households share beds, and who avoids stairs?
Arrival without a car The last trip and shopping Are they organized?

Give seven roles to the days, without imposing their order

A week can keep this pattern: installation, river, Chauvet 2, races and rest, natural cave, villages, departure. The steps move with the confirmations. Place activities that have a niche, then keep the day simple between two demanding outings.

For the canoe, the rental company confirms the journey and return ; the guide with children prepares the conditions of participation. A reservation early enough in the week leaves a possibility of postponement, depending on the professional's conditions.

The replica of Chauvet 2 takes about an hour with the guide, and the site about 3:30 in total according to its FAQ. A half-day reserved therefore does not automatically leave room for a second ticket. The Arc Bridge remains optional after verification of its access.

Prepare meals to avoid going back and forth

Choose it market which corresponds to your week, then bring the fresh produce back to your accommodation. Planning dinner before the big outing allows you to come home without looking for a restaurant at the end of the day.

At the Mas, the cottages are rented in self-catering. The swimming pool opens from mid-May to September depending on the weather; it is shared in rental of accommodation and exclusive in complete privatization. A day at the estate also depends on the facilities of the chosen accommodation.

Keep alternate exits that stay close

The comparison of caves helps you choose between Saint-Marcel, Orgnac and Chauvet 2. A covered visit is decided with the openings and the security of access, even a rainy day.

Saint-Montan, Viviers and Bourg-Saint-Andéol allow another day in the Rhône sector. Balazuc, Vogüé and Labeaume are exits to the west : look at their complete route before choosing them as a fallback.

Moving from method to stay program

The week from the Mas develops accommodation organization: beds, shopping, quiet days and departure. The holiday preparation sheet is used to note what is confirmed, to reserve or to recheck.

The six Mas gîtes 25 total beds exactly. Pascale checks the dates and distribution of the group; activities can be booked separately.
